lupul - autoritrattoMy name is Monica Pierazzi Mitri, I was born in Trieste (Italy) in 1983.

After a scientific high school in an experimental class project in science and biology in 2006 I graduated in "Painting" at the Art Academy in Venice with the final grade summa cum laude.

During the same year, under my thesis project in "Painting", I wrote an experimental thesis about the application of art therapy (Chromo and Gestalt therapy) linked to the psychological dimension of the fairy tale in community of hospitalized children with brain and neurological problems and I decorated the whole department of Neurosurgery of the Pediatric Hospital Burlo Garofolo in Trieste.

In 2008 I get the specialist degree cum laude in "Etching Techniques and Artistic Anatomy" at the same Academy in Venice.

In 2007 I have been selected at the international Illustrators Exhibition in Bologna Children's Book Fair in the non-fiction category thanks to a series of 5 engravings called "Animal Faces". My artworks were included in the Annual and in the Illustrators Exhibition worldwide hosted by many museums in Japan and South Korea (Tokyo-Itabashi Art Museum, Hyogo-Otani Memorial Art Museum, Aichi-Kawara Museum of Takahama City, Ishikawa-Ishikawa Nanao Art Museum, Korea Seoul-Neverland Picture Book Gallery).

Between 2007 and 2008 I worked as a designer for the Rainbow company in editorial and commercial production of two projects "Pixie Beach" and "Pixie Garden", characters related to the "Winx" fairies cartoons saga.

In 2008 I sold some of my engravings to the Korean "Neverland Picture Museum" in Seoul and they are now part of an international collection in standing exhibition.

During 2009 and 2010 I'm taking part to the Blue Book Group exhibition, travelling in Iran, Arabian Emirates and Japan.
In 2009 I worked for Asl Regione Lazio Prevention department in Civitavecchia, creating the dvd "Otto and his friends", educational illustrated stories for kids.
I work as illustrator and author with La Coccinella publishing house.
I volonteer with ENPA Ente Nazionale Protezione Animali (the national animal care and protection organization) by drawing educational illustrations for children and gadgets.
